Wind energy
Akuo Energy is involved in all stages of the life cycle of power plants: studies, design, financing, construction and operation.
Wind energy is produced by the kinetic energy generated by air streams and by the vibrations thereby produced. This wind energy is captured by means of wind turbines which convert kinetic energy into mechanical energy, the latter being ultimately converted in electrical energy by means of generators.
The energy produced may be used to supply the needs of industrial equipment and/or it can be injected into the local or national transmission grid network. Current state-of-the-art wind energy generation turbines have a wide operating range and can operate effectively within wind regimes ranging from 4 to more than 100 km/hour (30 m/second).
On a human scale, wind energy is inexhaustible. Terrestrial wind resources will continue to exist as long as the energy from the sun continues to shine onto the earth, which is estimated at another five billion years from present.
