Agrinergie

Agrinergie is an innovative concept which has been in development by by Akuo Energy since 2006. At the time that the concept was conceived, the Akuo Energy group was just starting its solar projects in Metropolitan France, Corsica and the French overseas territories.

The Agrinergie concept aims at connecting agriculture and renewable energy in an optimized manner. It is based upon the idea that when a ground-mounted solar energy plant is operated, a considerable part of the land used may continue to fulfill its primary and most fundamental purpose: agricultural cultivation.

The cash flows generated by commercializing electricity can therefore be used to economically support the agricultural activity carried out on the site in order to ensure that it remains competitive.

Akuo Energy systematically integrates an agricultural production section on each of its solar energy plants by supporting specific crops that are selected and tailored to each specific land site.

Each solar plant is conceived so as to optimize both energy production and agricultural production.

Each region has its own specific cultivated lands, adapted to both the soil and the markets for which they are intended.
