Akuo Foundation
As a producer of energy derived from renewable resources, Akuo is very keen to make people, in particular future generations, aware of current environmental issues.
Not only do Akuo projects serve as an example, but Akuo also believes in a practical approach to supporting programs and institutions dedicated to education and training courses focused on renewable energy.
Akuo Energy believes that all of society must participate to ensure that children, young adults and students are made fully aware of environmental issues, and steps that can be taken to confront and overcome these issues.
For this reason, Akuo Energy has co-founded the Elementerre Association in France, plays an active role in the Greenschool project in Bali, and is actively involved in the Masters training program of University Paris Diderot.
Elementerre
A.C.E. is a non-profit association which was created in 2007 with the aim of making young generations aware of environmental issues and sustainable development by means of simple daily gestures and reactions, the ecogestures.
The ElémenTerre outreach program addresses these issues through a pragmatic, interactive approach, which mobilizes college students, their teachers and even their parents, in particular by means of involving them in all of the French volunteer schools, by encouraging them to modify and adjust their behaviors which have the most adverse effect on their environment.

Greenschool (Bali)
The Greenschool was created in Bali by architect John Hardy. All of the school’s structures and furniture have been made exclusively from bamboo. Bamboo is easy to cultivate, it adapts to almost all types of soils and is a high consumer of carbon dioxide, which makes it a terrific green tool. The school will gather 700 pupils and will become energetically self efficient, partly thanks to Akuo Energy which is in charge of determining the school’s energy needs and designing and installing an energy generation solution specific to the precise needs of the school.
University Paris Diderot, Master Ingénierie Physique des Energies
This training course has been designed to meet the needs of major French companies which lack skilled personnel in the energy sector. The European Union has set a consumption goal of 20% of renewable energy by 2020. These goals have strongly stimulated the sector, thereby increasing the need for skilled engineers.
