The Santa Lucia project in Corsica, which came into operation in 2011, is located close to the site of a company specializing in the treatment of sewage sludge, a SYVADEC recycling center and a sewage processing plant. As a result, the creation of a solar farm has made the most of an area not suitable for urban development. As well as measures to limit environmental impacts during construction, seeding and planting was carried out to tackle the issue of soil erosion.

In addition, part of the site has been left free to enable its use by a young farmer for permaculture. This solution helps support local farming, builds a link with the community and supports biodiversity through a program of agricultural and ecological enhancement of the fields. Akuo Corse Energy is also seeking partners for the farming of Helichrysum and production of essential oils, having conducted positive tests on the site.
