Elles bougent
Project
Elles Bougent’s main ambition is to increase gender diversity in industrial and tech companies, in France and elsewhere, who are intent on recruiting more female engineers.
Actions undertaken
To promote careers in engineering, the association strives to help high and junior high schoolgirls to discover the broad range of often little-known engineering professions via different channels: organization of and/or participation in – with partner companies – forums, site visits and conferences. Elles Bougent also strives to dispel preconceived ideas and stereotypes by inviting female students, technicians and engineers to speak in educational establishments.
Changing the mindsets
The Akuo Foundation’s participation in Elles Bougent’s events has helped show young women that engineering can also go hand in hand with protecting the environment, in order to make them want to take a scientific degree course and eventually be able to contribute to the fight against climate change.
