Mortella: a solar plant with storage

Based in Corsica, Mortella consists of a 7 MWp photovoltaic plant and a Li-Ion battery storage unit with a capacity of 7 MWh. Operational since August 2015, this plant is the island’s largest photovoltaic farm with storage.

Thanks to the integration of storage capacity combined with an innovative injection monitoring and regulating system, the plant does not have the intermittency aspect associated with photovoltaic production, delivering stable and continuous power while providing guaranteed support for the grid’s stability.

Responsible harvests

The agricultural and ecological enhancement of the plots is based on the planting and exploitation of around one hundred olive trees to produce organic oil. This agricultural component is supporting the rural economy by supplying the local organic market and revalorizing the island’s traditional crops.
