The project

Inti - Energies Solidaires is an international association based in the French city of Nantes. Since 1999, it has undertaken programs to develop ecological cooking in France, Africa and the Andes. The project for which support was being sought is located in Bolivia, a country facing several challenges: access to energy, dominated by the use of gas, is expensive, particularly for the most vulnerable populations. In some regions, where people use wood as their main source of energy, it is often the women who go and find wood and transport it on their back, which is exhausting and doesn’t allow them to carry out another income-generating activity. At the same time, Bolivia enjoys exceptional sunlight conditions.

With all this in mind, Inti decided to launch a project whose goal is to integrate the manufacturing and use of solar tools as an alternative to wood heating. Through this approach, actions are carried out to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among vulnerable populations, notably women, and to make the general public aware of food security and solar energy issues.

The project has a substantial social and environmental impact, notably in terms of reducing CO2 emissions and fuel costs, increasing people’s income and improving local inhabitants’ conditions.
