This region is the perfect place to demonstrate that a one hundred percent renewable energy mix is possible – and our experience here dates back over ten years.
Many countries in the region still make extensive use of coal to produce their energy, even though they have the natural resources needed to engage in equitable transition, benefiting the environment, the climate, and grassroots purchasing power. We’re one of the first international groups to believe in the region’s potential, supporting around ten Central and Eastern European countries as they intensify their renewable energy production.

Our goals in the region : making renewable energy an opportunity for all
The climate emergency and the issues surrounding energy independence are pressing for Europe. In Central Europe, there is also a need to implement an equitable transition that creates jobs.
As committed stakeholders, we know that the answer to these challenges lies in distributing renewable assets throughout the region and creating a commensurate amount of storage capacity.
These solutions exist, cost relatively little, and benefit local residents.
Akuo has set itself clear, ambitious goals for Central Europe – and has all the cards in hand to achieve them. Wherever possible, we develop solutions tailored to the many local resources present, establishing ourselves as a long-term partner for the energy and agricultural transition.
Central and Eastern Europe are key areas where all sorts of issues converge. Only a clear, committed political decision to get out of coal will allow these countries to achieve energy transition, recover sovereignty, and provide affordable, sustainable energy for their citizens. Akuo is fully committed to supporting such policies.
