The Chavort project located in Rhône-Alpes was the first hydroelectric generating unit developed by the group to be built and now in operation. With nominal power of 2 MW, Chavort is in Savoie on the Isère river, which has very high and steady flow rates, at 120m3/s. This is a 'very low head' (VLH) hydro project (with a fall of just 3.10m), therefore requiring a specialized technological solution.
French VLH technology was chosen for its performance and for the exceptionally high survival rate of fish passing through the system, which is close to 100%. This innovation will be subject to environmental monitoring for the first six years after it begins operations.

The integration of the project into its environment has also been optimized from an aesthetic point of view: the turbine is fully submerged when the river is in spate, and the ancillary technical buildings have green roofs.
The Chavort hydro plant forms part of the local renewable energy plan of Montmélian and will supply the equivalent of half of the energy used by this commune (more than 5,000 households).
