HYDRO
A steady stream
of electricity

Hydroelectricity plays a crucial role in the development of renewable energies: non-intermittent and entirely controllable, it offers a secure power source that is one of the most competitive current sources of energy. It contributes nearly one-fifth of the global energy mix. In France it is by far the leading source of renewable energy. A decentralized and permanent source of energy, hydro is a major factor in developing energy autonomy in isolated areas and maintaining employment in rural settings.

Akuo Energy focuses primarily on “micro-hydro” schemes and has several dozen megawatts of capacity under development, the vast majority of which are in international markets. The Chavort project in France’s Rhône-Alpes region is the group's first hydroelectric project to be built.

of hydro POWER CAPACITY IN OPERATION, UNDER CONSTRUCTION OR WITH FINANCING UNDERWAY

Hydro power is the fourth-ranking technology in the group, in terms of installed capacity in operation, construction and financing. Given its strong potential, and in line with the group’s strategy of being present across the entire value chain for mature technologies,

Akuo Energy has chosen to create its own dedicated development team, which currently consists of four full-time employees.
