Bruno Bensasson, Chief Executive Officer of Akuo, was part of the official French delegation during the official visit of President Emanuel Macron to Greece on 24 and 25 April 2026.

This high‑level visit, bringing together major French industrial players from a wide range of sectors, aimed to strengthen economic cooperation between France and Greece and to support long‑term investment in strategic industries, including renewable energy.

A key milestone: signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Jasper Wind and AirEnergy S.A.

For Akuo, the highlight of this visit was the signing, on 25 April in Athens, of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jasper Wind and AirEnergy S.A. The MoU reflects the parties’ shared intention to pursue cooperation on the development and potential acquisition of six wind energy projects with an anticipated aggregate installed capacity of approximately 145 MW, located in the area of Atalanti, Region of Sterea Ellada. It marks an important milestone in Akuo’s strategy to further expand its activities in the country.

Bruno Bensasson also took part in the panel discussion on energy during the economic forum held the same day, in the presence of the French President Macron, the Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Ministers of Economy, Mr. Rolland Lescure and Mr. Kyriákos Pierrakákis.

Akuo’s long‑term growth ambition in Greece

As a French renewable energy player, Akuo is keen to intensify its presence in Greece, notably following the commissioning of its first megawatts in the country. Being present within the French presidential delegation, alongside major industrial stakeholders from different sectors, represents for Akuo a valuable opportunity to strengthen its ties with the Greek business community and to contribute to the country’s energy transition ambitions.

Present in Greece since 2019, Akuo has built a solid development footprint in the country. Its current project portfolio comprises 1.4 GW of solar, wind and storage projects, and 88 MW could reach ready‑to‑build status as early as 2027, subject to access to the electricity grid. Through its participation in this official visit and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Akuo reaffirms its long‑term commitment to Greece and its ambition to support the development of a sustainable, competitive and resilient renewable energy sector.

“France and Greece are strong European partners, to all extent. Akuo is honoured to contribute to this enrooted partnership for its energy part, as energy is a key condition for economic and social prosperity as well as for sovereignty” said Bruno Bensasson, Chief Executive Officer of the company. “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with Jasper Wind and AirEnergy S.A. illustrates Akuo’s ambition to deepen its investments in Greece, to work closely with trusted local partners and to contribute concretely to the country’s energy transition with affordable, local and sustainable electricity supply.”
