Accueil Social Wall Social Wall Page réseaux sociaux 19/02/2025 🎉Celebrating 15 years of the Marie-Galante Solar Power Plant! 📍 Located on the island of Marie-Galante, France, this plant is equipped with ground-mounted photovoltaic panels covering an area of 4 hectares, with a total installed capacity of 2 MW. It is made up of 9,900 polycrystalline solar modules from GE Energy. 🔌 Every year, it avoids emitting 1,500 tons of CO2 and provides electricity to the equivalent of 1,200 households. Representing nearly 30% of the island's consumption 6 MW, the plant plays an important role in local energy production. But this project is more than just energy production. Since its commissioning in 2010, Marie-Galante has been the first solar power plant in the Caribbean to combine solar generation with agricultural and livestock activities on the same land, introducing agrivoltaics to the region. Around 2 hectares are dedicated to melliferous fallow land and grazing, with a melliferous hedge enhancing the site's nutritional potential for bees, as part of the Agrivoltaics project. 🐝 This initiative makes it possible to combine clean energy production with beekeeping and the sheep grazing helps manage the grazing pressure between the rows of panels, ensuring proper land maintenance while protecting biodiversity. With more than 20 operational wind farms and a total installed capacity of over 900 MW. ☀️ Solar energy complements this commitment, with more than 50 operational power plants and over 590 MW installed. These projects include technologies such as agrivoltaics, floating solar, and ground-mounted solar. 🌟 Altogether, our renewable energy projects reduce CO2 emissions by more than 1,100,000 tons every year! Today, more than 29% of the electricity consumed worldwide comes from renewable sources IRENA, 2022. More than ever, it's crucial to accelerate. La semaine dernière, nous avons remis à @[Louis DRIEY], Maire de Piolenc un chèque d’un montant de 276 659€ correspondant au remboursement du capital investi et du versement des intérêts acquis de plus de 76 000 €. Un investissement à double impact, car au-delà de financer la transition énergétique locale, il a permis à la commune de récupérer un montant conséquent au profit de la #collectivité. 🤝 Ce projet illustre la solidité du partenariat de confiance qui nous unit à la Mairie de Piolenc depuis le début. Cette relation reflète une démarche unique, où une commune choisit d’investir directement dans un projet local d’énergie renouvelable, en s’appuyant sur Akuo pour concrétiser cette ambition. Une confiance que nous avons à cœur d’honorer. 🌍 En combinant innovation technologique et impact local, nous contribuons à renforcer la résilience des territoires et à construire des communautés durables.
