🌎 Akuo was at the 9th Latin America Energy Summit in Santiago, Chile. Bringing together key players from across the energy sector, the Summit was a key moment to discuss how Latin America’s energy markets are evolving in a rapidly changing landscape. ⚡ Our Country Manager Uruguay and VP Chile, @[Martin Bocage], took part in a panel exploring the region’s next phase of development. As Chile consolidates its role as a front-runner in renewables and storage, the conversation now turns to what comes next: scaling investments across neighboring countries, adapting business models to new market dynamics, and addressing the need for stronger grid integration across the Southern Cone. With diverse levels of market maturity across the region, one of the key challenges lies in turning local successes into regional momentum: bridging gaps, sharing experience and building more connected energy systems 🤝 For Akuo, present in Latin America for nearly two decades, these discussions reflect both the progress made and the road ahead to accelerate the energy transition at scale. #latam #renewableenergy

🧑‍🏫 This week, we had the pleasure of visiting the school in Gavião Portugal, where we partnered with the NGO Officina to host hands-on workshops for young students focused on renewable energy. Through interactive and manual activities, the children explored how wind and solar energy work and how natural resources can be transformed into clean, sustainable energy. 💡 It was especially meaningful to see parents joining the moment, helping foster dialogue, curiosity, and knowledge-sharing across generations. Workshops like these are essential: they empower younger generations to better understand the benefits of renewable energy and highlight the importance of community involvement in shaping a more responsible future! Akuo has been actively involved in Portugal since 2019, developing renewable energy projects across the country. With projects in the municipality of Gavião, we are proud to be an active part of the local community and happy to contribute beyond our projects by supporting educational and awareness initiatives like this one. 📣 We were pleased to take part in the first edition of the French Business Day in Kosovo, jointly organized by the @[European Investors Council] in Kosovo and the French Embassy in Kosovo. @[Lovro Mirković], Finance Controller supporting several of our projects in the region, spoke on the panel “Kosovo’s energy transition: what’s been achieved and what’s next?”, moderated by @[Louis BOISGIBAULT], alongside Ms @[Artane Rizvanolli]([remove]-y3UVcGIQ), Minister of Economy, to share perspectives on Kosovo’s energy future. Kosovo’s energy transition is gaining real momentum, driven by clear political commitment and significant untapped renewable potential. At Akuo, we have believed in Kosovo's energy transition from the start, and our long-term vision is reflected in our continued engagement and our participation in the second phase of the current wind tender, a strong signal of the country’s ambition. 🤝 This event also highlighted close and trusted ties between France and Kosovo. We warmly thank the French Embassy in Kosovo, and in particular Ambassador Olivier Guérot, for the invitation and for their continued support, which plays a key role in enabling French companies to contribute to Kosovo’s energy transition.

🔌 Producing energy locally: a key lever to accelerate the energy transition and strengthen Europe’s energy sovereignty   Last week, at the @[Raise - Investir na Transição Energética] Final Summit, @[João Maria de Macedo Santos] took part in a panel discussion on “The energy transition as the new geopolitics”.   📢 His key message was clear: in this new geopolitical reality, the real answer to energy security is accelerating the energy transition.   By producing energy locally from resources such as the sun and wind, we reduce geopolitical dependence and price volatility. It also calls for a rethink of how we invest in energy. Countries with strong renewable potential and stable regulatory frameworks, like Portugal, demonstrate how policy continuity can attract long-term investment and support projects that are firmly rooted in local territories.   🤝 At Akuo, we are convinced that humanizing the energy transition is essential:  it is not only about gigawatts, but about innovation, agriculture, biodiversity, and local value creation. The success of the projects depends on how well they are integrated in their local environment, co-constructed with the communities and benefitting them through more stable electricity bills, employment and regional development. Only then can the energy transition truly succeed and deliver the energy security Europe needs, shielded from geopolitical shocks. #EnergyTransition #EnergySovereignty

✨ The birth of Akuo and agrivoltaics   Founded in 2007, Akuo was created with a strong conviction: “Today, we have a duty to take action to leave a better world for our children. In this respect, renewable energies have incredible potential for development in France and throughout the world.”   From the very beginning, the company set out to accelerate the energy transition through renewable solutions with long-term impact. Driven by this entrepreneurial spirit, Akuo quickly introduced an innovative concept: #agrivoltaics.   This approach is based on two key observations : 🟢 The urgent need for an energy transition 🟢 The vital necessity to support the agricultural transition   🇷🇪 Reunion Island was chosen as the birthplace of this innovation. With limited agricultural land, dedicating space solely to electricity production was not an option. Combining agriculture with photovoltaic power plants naturally emerged as the ideal solution, one that enhances organic farming and local expertise while generating clean, renewable electricity.
