The project was recognized for its positive impact and participatory model, involving citizens directly in the energy transition, setting a new standard for energy democracy and inclusive development. By connecting people directly with clean energy infrastructure, we brought renewable solutions closer to the local level and introduced innovative financing models that support sustainability and long-term resilience. Her talk, “Solar in harmony with the environment,” focused on agrivoltaics: combining solar energy and farming on the same land to make better use of space, support biodiversity, and help farms better withstand challenges. Hier soir, nous avons eu le plaisir de présenter notre projet agrivoltaïque de Sombernon et sa campagne de financement participatif lors d’une réunion d’information à la @[CCI Côte-d’Or ⋅ Saône-et-Loire ]à Dijon. Développé sur 54 hectares de terres, ce projet est le premier en France à associer grandes cultures et trackers solaires et a été conçu en étroite collaboration avec trois agriculteurs locaux. The discussion brought together key energy players of the region to share insights on how to accelerate the transition toward cleaner, more resilient power systems. Éric highlighted Akuo’s decade-long commitment to the Western Balkans, a region where we have more than 100 MW already operating and over 1 GW in development. For us, the energy transition is not only about building power plants, it's about fostering economic opportunities, quality jobs, and greater regional integration. Key priorities for decarbonisation raised by Éric during the panel included: ⚡ stable and predictable regulatory frameworks, ⚡ modernising transmission infrastructure, ⚡ unlocking the full potential of energy storage. He also emphasised that storage is no longer an option but a necessity, a strategic enabler for integrating renewable energy at scale. Akuo’s belief is clear and simple: today in the Balkans, we have everything we need to ACCELERATE the energy transition: from the economic and technical relevance of these solutions to the willingness of players to quickly deploy their projects.
