Arica II
Arica II: Akuo’s flagship project in Chile
Arica II is set to become Akuo's flagship project in Chile, delivering clean energy to the country's northern grid. The project will be Akuo's largest asset in Chile and the company's first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the country. Akuo has an 80MW solar portfolio composed of 9 solar PMGDs projects, located across the central south regions of Chile, of which 7 are under operation and the rest will be finalized at the end of 2026.
The project is located on land secured through a long-term lease in an area with no competing land uses. It complies with the Chilean environmental approval process (RCA) and all applicable regulatory requirements. The site is located in the Atacama Desert, and no vegetation clearing is required for its development.
The project will have a total installed capacity of 264 MWp of solar PV generation and 880MWh of battery storage capacity (4-hour duration), with an export capacity of 220 MWac to the local grid.
