HYDRO
A steady stream
of electricity
Hydroelectricity plays a crucial role in the development of renewable energies: non-intermittent and entirely controllable, it offers a secure power source that is one of the most competitive current sources of energy. It contributes nearly 15% of the global electricity mix.
In France it is by far the leading source of renewable energy. A decentralized and permanent source of energy, hydro is a major factor in developing energy autonomy in isolated areas and maintaining employment in rural settings. Akuo Energy focuses primarily on small hydro schemes and currently operates 80 MW in France and Bulgaria.

Aqua Bella is the second project developed and operated by Akuo in France. Installed on a tributary of the Isère River in the French Savoie region, the hydroelectric power plant is equipped with innovative turbines for 2.2 MW total power, this run-of-the-river power plant is a great example of a territorial project thanks to its visual integration into the surroundings and respect for wildlife.
Akuo is also present in Bulgaria through 4 power plants, operated by the Group's teams, with a total capacity of 63 MW.
