📢 Akuo at the Belgrade Energy Forum 2025: decarbonising Southeast Europe’s power generation by 2040/2050, a shared roadmap Yesterday in Belgrade, @[Eric Scotto], CEO and co-founder of Akuo, spoke at the panel “Decarbonisation strategies for power generation in Southeast Europe 2040/2050”, alongside 🔹 @[Dejan Paravan], CEO, GEN Energija, 🔹 @[Dušan Živković], CEO, EPS, 🔹 Milutin Đukanović, Chairman, EPCG Board of Directors, 🔹 @[Neda Lazendic], Country Manager, WV-International, moderated by @[Dražen Jakšić], Director, Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar. The discussion brought together key energy players of the region to share insights on how to accelerate the transition toward cleaner, more resilient power systems. Éric highlighted Akuo’s decade-long commitment to the Western Balkans, a region where we have more than 100 MW already operating and over 1 GW in development. For us, the energy transition is not only about building power plants, it's about fostering economic opportunities, quality jobs, and greater regional integration. Key priorities for decarbonisation raised by Éric during the panel included: ⚡ stable and predictable regulatory frameworks, ⚡ modernising transmission infrastructure, ⚡ unlocking the full potential of energy storage. He also emphasised that storage is no longer an option but a necessity, a strategic enabler for integrating renewable energy at scale. Akuo’s belief is clear and simple: today in the Balkans, we have everything we need to ACCELERATE the energy transition: from the economic and technical relevance of these solutions to the willingness of players to quickly deploy their projects. In the face of current geopolitical and climate challenges, Europe's energy independence has become a strategic priority. These initiatives aim to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, while strengthening its industrial competitiveness. When future generations meet the future of energy - school visit at our winfarm in Poland “I want to work on a wind turbine – it’s such a cool job, wind turbines are awesome!” Hearing something like this from a 7-year-old is the best reminder of why it’s worth opening up our industry to younger generations. Last week, together with @[The Polish Wind Energy Association], we welcomed over 100 children to our Wielowieś Wind Farm for an educational visit focused on renewable energy and sustainability. It was a great opportunity to show what wind power really is – up close, in action, and with all the questions kids can come up with. Many thanks to @[Paweł Jasny] and @[Mirosław Korzeniewski]([remove]\_AWJzXli), our site managers at Akuo, for guiding the groups and sharing their expertise with passion and enthusiasm – no easy task when your audience includes a hundred energetic future engineers!
