The Agrinergie III solar farm is the second second-generation solar farm combined with an Agrinergie® project to be installed on Réunion. It consists of 15 cyclone-proof photovoltaic greenhouses, covering a total area of 4 hectares. Akuo Energy’s partners in this project are the Rivière brothers, well-known market gardeners on the island. The greenhouses are used for soil-less growing of tomatoes as well as planted pineapples and a substantial plant nursery.
Produce is sold on the local market, thus increasing the island’s food independence.
