Saulieu
A project combining renewable energy and agriculture
The Saulieu solar power plant is located on grassland to the northeast of the town, in an area designated for future development under the Local Urban Plan. It is situated between the railway line and the “Ferme de l’Auxois” locality, south of the Ardillières business and industrial area.
The project covers a total area of 10.2 hectares, part of which is dedicated to photovoltaic panels.
Sheep grazing has been introduced on the site, enabling a local farmer to expand his activity. In an area where access to agricultural land is particularly limited, making this land available helps support the development of his farm. This combined use of the land brings together renewable energy production and the continuation of agricultural activity.
