The project

Régie de Territoire de Tsingoni is a Shimaore regional management association created in 2016 whose purpose is to ensure access to healthcare, promote the circular economy, protect the environment and keep the community safe.

A wide range of actions

Régie de Territoire de Tsingoni notably works in villages in the municipality of Combani, where it contributes to the area’s revitalization by organizing workshops that cover issues ranging from repairing household appliances to manufacturing handcrafted objects from waste. On a day-to-day basis, the association is run by and works for Combani’s inhabitants, in collaboration with local private and public players.

Addressing local health issues

The project supported by the Akuo Foundation is called Plus belle ma v’île, and its goal is to provide guidance to people who have little access to healthcare and who are uninformed regarding their rights in this respect. In practical terms, it aims to make bathrooms, clothes and washing machines available close to where the beneficiaries live, as well as the acquisition or manufacturing of hygiene products (menstrual underwear, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste). These actions, made possible through adapted support, help improve inhabitants’ individual or family quality of life with regard to the sanitary and social problems they can encounter, notably with respect to body hygiene and home cleanliness issues.
