One of the largest wind farms in the Dominican Republic, the Pecasa project is a key driver of the country’s energy transition. Located in an area suffering from unreliable energy supplies, the project will secure power supply to neighboring villages. To achieve this, Akuo Energy drew on all of its characteristic inventiveness and flexibility to adapt to a restrictive and highly mountainous site. Thanks to its bespoke design,

the project respects this hilly landscape and integrates perfectly with its natural environment. In order to ensure the optimal performance of its equipment, Akuo Energy selected high-tech turbines guaranteeing the maximum output in a region of high demand for energy. Lastly, this project will include a full social element, supporting employment and the development of the rural communities located close to the site.
