The largest roof-mounted solar plant on the French island of Reunion
The Logistisud photovoltaic plant, located in Saint-Pierre, Reunion, came online at the end of 2010. With a capacity of 1.3 MW, it stands out as the largest plant integrated within a new building on the island. It sits atop a cold warehouse belonging to the Logistisud company, after which the facility is named.
On a building surface area of 9,300m², 4,080 Sunpower high performance monocrystalline panels were installed with the help of two of the island’s local companies, SMAC and COREM, who were respectively in charge of installing the roof and undertaking the electrical work. With an annual output of 1,916 MWh, these panels produce enough energy to cover around a third of the Logistisud warehouses’ electricity consumption.
The investment was made possible thanks to the contribution of Akuo Investment SCA SICAR – the investment fund created by Akuo – and the CEPAC, Banque de la Réunion and Banque Palatine banks.
