Pascialone
Agricultural and energy upgrading of a previously unused space
Located in central Corsica, the Pascialone plant is the result of close cooperation between the local farming sector, the municipality of Poggio-di-Venaco that owns the land and the production of green electricity. The photovoltaic farm has been installed on rocky ground (a former riverbed), which thus limited its agricultural use. The decision to install an electricity production plant has helped upgrade land that was formerly unsuitable for use. The removal of stones was necessary both for the plant’s construction work and for the creation of a grazing activity thanks to the planting of grass seedlings. The plant has a capacity of 4.5 MW and injected its first electrons into the power grid in 2011.
Our CSR commitment
Sustainable agricultural upgrade
To further enhance the site, seedlings were planted, and a neighboring farmer is using the land to graze his flock of sheep.
Planting of protected local flora
To limit the plant’s visual impact and boost the development of local flora, a hedgerow consisting entirely of endemic species has been planted.
